BJ`s Restaurant in Beacon

Such awesome people! All of the food is made to order, but totally worth the wait. I really enjoyed the fried chicken legs and thighs. Battered and fried to perfection. The batter didn't fall apart and the meat was super tender. Everyone was friendly even though they were packed the entire time (I'm sure it's exhausting to have so many customers). I can't wait to go back soon!

I love this restaurant. It is reasonably priced, especially because the food is DELICIOUS. Hands down, best chicken and waffles I've ever had! The owner and staff are friendly and provide good service.

The wait time is a little longer than I'm used to, but very much worth it. I've visited BJ's a few times, never disappointed with the staff or food.

The Bomb! Got a fried chicken and waffle breakfast and it was the stuff of dreams. Perfectly crisp and juicy chicken on top of a Belgium waffle that I topped with hot sauce and syrup. My friend got cheese grits that were equally soul filling.

Food is Home-made and delicious ! It is family operated . Locals seem to love this spot. It's best to call and order ahead. The food will take about 15 minutes because it is MADE FRESH 😋😋The fried whiting w/ potato salad & greens. 🔥🔥🔥

Oh. My. GODS! The food here is PHENOMENAL!! Brenda, the owner and head chef cooks with LOVE!!! Also, my first time there, I asked one of the counter people what something was; his reply, "It's the best thing in the world: banana pudding.". You know I bought a container! The fish n chips is super good (and this coming from someone who does not like seafood but ate it like he lives for it); my table manners were so bad, but I had purchased to go, and nobody saw me make a mess of my fingers, face, and chin. So far, everything I have eaten there, or to go has been super beyond delicious! I cannot wait to return!!

Found this place by accident. So glad our party of 8 did. Everyone enjoyed their delicious choices. Servers and local patrons were very friendly.

Its OK for soul food. Maybe the best you are going to get in the area since there are not baby choices

The server was really sweet. But I will never go here again. I got fried chicken which was the driest chicken I’ve ever had in my life. I had Mac and cheese with it which was edible but tasted like something out of a kids cuisine TV dinner. And the yams were just disgusting. Not sure why this place has any good reviews at all

I could write a very lengthy review but to keep it short and simple. Some of the best southern style soul food you are going to get in the north. Just try it you will not be disappointed.

The food just amazing. Cooked fresh when ordered. Fried chicken just had that outside crunch & meat tender & juicy. Same for the fish. Corn bread to die for.

I LOVE bjs food best restaurant in beacon hands down!!.. I usually go for the whitings fish always all the time, I’ve tried the oxtails, fried shrimp and today the chicken wings.. It’s FLAVOURFUL & the sides taste awesome man everything in the store taste good, you will NOT go wrong trying bjs out... I give it a 10+ I tried everything in beacon and always come back to bjs because they make there food with LOVE 💕💕💕

We have come here many times and the food is always great, the staff super friendly. They cook from scratch so take your time. I love soul food. They cook it fresh and wholesome, very delicious. Last weekend we went and sat outside on the sidewalk and I had the best fried chicken of my lifetime. Just thinking about it makes me want some more.

I have ate here a couple times, and I must say the Chicken Wings are delicious! With that being said the sides are not good at all!!! My first meal I tried the mac and cheese and yams. The Mac and cheese was not southern at all and didn't taste good. The yams were ok, but under seasoned. 2nd time I got fries as the sides weren't good. The portion was small and they seemed old. 3 attempt I really wanted some cabbage and Mac and cheese to complete my leftover meal. I have never had cabbage that bad!!! It was bland with no flavor and there was shredded carrots in it. I was so turned off I threw it away. I will only ever order chicken as I lost faith in anything else they can do. Lastly the wait time for food is horrible.

This place is TERRIBLE. I waiting 45 minutes for a plate of Oxtail rice and gravy and cabbage, my girlfriend ordered baked chicken yams and Mac and cheese. When I got home excited to finally eat some new soul food I was quickly brought to anger. The FOUR oxtail that I paid $13 for were covered in oxtail fat and just overall disgusting. My lady says the yams taste like they came from a can. I try and be the guy to support local business especially black owned but, this is pathetic. I gave them one star because the chicken was seasoned well and not dry.

Am a bronx native, came up for my cousin wedding .at chills, We had some time to kill and spotted this restaurant near went in for some coffee and ended up having the chicken noodle soup omg delicious !!the waiter asked if we will like some cornbread he stated it was good so we tried it and I must say me and my family all agreed yesss it was delicious as well!!and yes inwill travel up again to eat at bjs soulfood!keep up the good work.

Friendly helpful service. You get 2 delicious pork chops and the fried chicken meal was enough to share. Food is made as you order it.

If you are looking for good southern soul food...this is the place to. Their fried chicken is to die for. I don't know how they do it...but good Lord it is delicious. And their greens....don't even get me started. Though I like mine spicy they sure do know how to cook them!!! I LOVE this place. And the people are just wonderful. Just as sweet as the pie!!

Delicious! Everything I've had on the menu is on point. This is one of the not-so-hidden gems that you wish someone would have told you about. Well I'm telling you.The staff was very accommodating to our group (heavy winter motorcycle gear, helmets, etc.)The short ribs were incredible. The cabbage was flavorful with perfect texture. And the yams.... Sweet and tasty, they could be on the dessert menu.We have a chance to get there every so often on our Sunday rides and have never been disappointed. And from past experience, we will never be.I was there yesterday and am already looking to return. I think the oxtail is calling me this time..

They say food is freshly cooked as ordered we’ll let me tell y’all about the yams that taste like they out the can and the Mac and cheese that taste like boxed velvetta!!! Not to mention when we complained about the food being cold we was told they could heat it up in the microwave for a few minutes...yuck!! Only thing that was fresh was the fried fish! Turkey wings and meatloaf didn’t even look eatable! Wouldn’t recommend this place if you want REAL southern food!!!

For years, i have passed by, never stopping. What a mistake. I should have eaten here years ago. I stopped in at lunchtime today, fried chicken breast was large, juicy and tastefully battered. The mac and cheese was a delite and the collard greens, the best i have had in a very long time. The prices are very reasonable. Be prepared to wait a little for your order, your food is being freshly prepared. Don't expect the trendy service experience, it's not that kind of place. Instead, help yourself to a drink from the cooler, strike up a conversation with anyone. It's likely everyone knows each other. I will definately be going back. Stop in, have something and say hello.

Food is great. Especially, the fried chicken and pork chops. A folksy, homey restaurant with a small town feel.

I had fried chicken with rice and gravy and potato salad. The potato salad was amazing. The rice was tasty and so was the chicken. I will try the oxtail next time.

Absolutely love this place, my personal favorite is the wings and fries, but they are so much more. Fresh baked peach and apple pies. And the wait staff and owners are so friendly!

I went to BJ's after reading about it in an online newspaper. I was very disappointed.When I was seated, I noticed that the table next to me wasn't cleaned off, also the floor wasn't that clean. I ordered a Bacon cheeseburger, and when my order came out, I got a Cheeseburger. After 2 minuted someone came out with a plate that had 2 strips of Bacon on it. The Fries that I got with my burger were SALTY! Also the fries that I got were about an inch and a quarter long. ??? I guess I got the bottom of the french frie bag. My meal didn't come with a pickle spear. In all fairness, the Burger was cooked perfectly, and very tasty. Also I didn't get a bill, my Waitress/cashier just told me what my total was. This is a bit "Fishy" if you ask me.Will I go her again ? NO! There are other places in Beacon to eat at!

The worst food I've ever tasted in my life. I ordered fried chicken (white meat) and they brought it out separately....LITERALLY a wing came out then about 5-7 minutes later this huge chicken breast came out, that was pink in the middle. Yuck. The greens were swimming in a cup of water, and the mac and cheese tasted like it was made with powdered cheese. I was highly disappointed.

Food isn't consistent... sometimes seasoned well sometimes not!

Definitely not bad for the price but the green beans and Mac n cheese were so so so.

BJ's the only soul food place for miles. Love the breakfast here. Dinner is great also.
